Our client, a well-established manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Plant Safety Manager.
The Health & Safety Manager with will lead and direct the routine functions of the Safety department as well as champion occupational safety in the facility.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Safety Champion for the facility, directing and coordinating EH&S functions.
- Lead our Behavior Based Safety program, analyzing observation data to enhance safety protocols.
- Conduct regular hazard identification and abatement programs to mitigate risks within the facility.
- Lead accident investigations in collaboration with production management, overseeing corrective actions.
- Perform safety inspections and prepare annual safety audits, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Coordinate OSHA-required safety training and maintain related documentation.
- Collaborate with HR and Learning & Development to organize safety training records and ensure compliance.
- Provide analysis of safety trends and associated costs to management and corporate safety.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations and company policies.
- Foster a culture of safety through training, development, coaching, and leadership.
- Coordinate with department managers and supervisors to ensure incident-free operations.
- Compile and submit required reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Uphold company standards for cleanliness, housekeeping, and safety.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Ability to drive safety initiatives and engage employees at all levels.
- Strong understanding of operations within a manufacturing or warehousing environment
- Familiarity with Safety, Security, OSHA, and Worker's Comp administration.
- Background in Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Outstanding organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
- Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of occupational safety and worker's compensation laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent Safety certification(s) with 5 years of experience in the Safety profession.
- Current OSHA-30 Hour Card.
